This is a message to let you know about the upcoming and inaugural JACKSONVILLE FINE ART FESTIVAL. This juried art festival is being presented by the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, the Avondale Merchant Association, Hewlett Packard and many other major, high profile sponsors who are underwriting the most important feature – prize monies!!!
It will be held in Boone Park, just blocks away from the Shoppes of Historic Avondale, in Jacksonville, Florida, April 9th and 10th.
The Jacksonville Fine Arts Festival will accept entries for the following categories: Clay, Digital Art, Drawings and Graphics, Fiber Arts, Fine Jewelry, Glass, Metal, Mixed Media, Paintings, Photography, Sculpture, Watercolor, Wood Turning and Wood Carving. Entry fees are $25, and booth fees are $150 for 10×10, and $250 for 20×10. Artists must provide their own white tenting. This is a juried event being modeled after the Raymond James sponsored, 30 years’ strong, FAMED Tampa Art Fair ~ Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts ~ renowned for its exquisite fine art offerings and massive success.
We will be laying the booth spaces out to mirror an historic shopping district and anticipate the participation of the Symphony and various, important children’s choirs and choruses in Jacksonville and the outlying areas. Those interested in performing classical, jazz, choral, or chamber music, please contact my pal Ken Stutes at Avondale Artworks. His number is 904-384-8797.
Top Rated Restaurants (rated by Urbanspoon.com) will act as the food vendors creating an air of gourmet expertise. Those already on board are Biscottis, The Brick, the Casbah, Green Gourmet, Let Them Eat Cake, & Blue Fish!!!
The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens is creating a “Cummer in the Park” and showcasing important works of art in the style of a miniature Cummer Museum!
